SemWare launch their new laboratory module, the quality pilot for seed laboratory workers

SemWare's new lab module is the result of a ground-breaking approach, applied to seed manufacturing for over 10 years. This makes it a pragmatic tool, able to adapt finely to the reality of any seed station.

The laboratory module has a global aim. It streamlines and secures the flows linked to the analyzes carried out in the laboratories, from the initial reception of the batches in the seed station, to the final quality control which will classify them according to their quality results.

From an industrial point of view, it makes it possible to rationalize processes and to make the best possible profit of each batch, according to the qualitative characteristics measured.

Thus, when you use the laboratory module, quality and traceability are at the controls; they pilot the processing of seeds from one end of the manufacturing line to the other, in complete safety:

  • secured reception of samples, tracking of their movements and identification of their storage locations (internal or external);
  • assistance with analyzes, to perform measurements as well as to optimize and secure the entry of results;
  • automatic checks of the consistency of results and of batch compliance, for each analysis or family of analyzes, using scales and mathematical formulas configured in the ERP iGus ;
  • immediate identification of possible non-compliance, to ensure optimal responsiveness;
  • automatic classification of batches according to their quality results and proposal of action plans adapted to the results obtained;
  • possibility of carrying out exceptional qualitative operations (downgrading of a batch, change of generation, regression ...) according to circumstances and industrial constraints.

The secret to the efficiency of the laboratory module? It is the subtle alliance of its different ingredients:

  • a powerful ERP, iGus,
  • the flexibility of the procedural component myGus,
  • ready-to-use dashboards thanks to the web application tiGus, some of which have been specially adapted to the needs of laboratories,
  • the involvement of an experienced team, close to customers, on a daily basis.

And there are many benefits:

  • automatic generation of the exact number of sample labels defined in the sampling plan;
  • automatic edition of the adequate number of analysis labels, per analysis, per family of analysis, per standard ...;
  • economy of calculation of results of analyzes every time iGus calculates them: averages (example: rounded to 100 of the average result of germination analyzes), conversions ... ;
  • economy of entry of the analyzes, whenever the results are calculated by iGus ;
  • proportional reduction of the risk of making measurement or data entry errors, with control points per units, for the family, or for the entire data entry ;
  • quick reaction if the quality of a batch needs to be checked or if counter-analyzes are to be started;
  • traceability of measurements, per operator and per data entry;
  • transparency, easy management and responsiveness in case of control by the SOC : myGus guides the SOC technician towards the samples he wishes to control and no one needs to intervene;
  • ability to group samples per destination (a seed station, a laboratory, the GNIS...), for example for a delivery (a shipping note is then edited automatically);
  • etc.

The current settings in iGus are based on the standards imposed by the GNIS. However, it is possible to model any other standard, just as finely. And the procedures of myGus will follow these other standards as easily as they follow the standards of the GNIS.
